Replacement cartridge for SC-50 & HSC-50. Order when the Scaltrol compound is near the bottom cap. No heavy bags of salt to carry, very effective on calcium, no sodium added to the water, no water waste through back flushing, long lasting and easy to maintain! Inhibits corrosion by coating plumbing and components. Sequesters nuisance minerals. (puts them in suspension). Removes existing scale deposits. Limits leaching of lead and copper. Treats calcium carbonate (scale), chlorides, copper, iron, and magnesium. Does NOT treat bacteria. Certified to ANSI/NSF Standards and approved for potable water. Food grade material. Used by most municipals that treat for hardness (~ 20%). Used in water systems since 1929.
